Primer
The world of these adventures is an archipelago consisting of several small continents and many islands. Civilizations flower and die here – leaving remnants behind for the Dirge Corps to scrape up and expand the necromantic power seated at Mortenthrone. A small City State called Care Corrin is all that remains of a once grand kingdom that challenged Dorian’s kingdom of death. In many regions, local lords, loyal to the Obsidian King, oversee taxes of food, gold, weapons, and most importantly, the dead are routed to the Raven Kingdom. In the woods, Druid Circles are blessed by warship a Mother of Roots. In the dark places, stranger things from beyond the stars offer power in exchange for service.
Game Details
For this game we’ll be using the Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition rules (not the updated books just released). Rules from the Player’s Handbook, Xanathar’s Guide to Everything, Volo’s Guide to Monsters, and Tasha’s Cauldron of Everything are all allowed sources for your characters. We’ll build 2nd level characters, using the Standard Array for stats.
You do not need to arrive with a character already built! I will make sure we have blank sheets, books, and dice – just come to have fun!
Setting details
Monks might gain their training in a well-known monastery in Care Corrin called The Chrysanthemum Reserve, or in a remote mountain reliquary called Elinea.
Clerics & Paladins might pledge themselves to the chief deity, Voxaraxov (neutral) known as the Dream Sire and It-That-Sleeps – the belief is that it dreams reality into existence somewhere on a far-off dimension. Teraluxol, the Golden Dragon is revered by champions of Law and Goodness. Kazgoroth is a god of Evil & Murder. Calaab is a trickster god that the chaotic follow.
Warlocks have many options for patrons, including demons, devils, unicorns, living swords, and insane things that float in strange oceans in realms beyond.
Thieves might be secret members of the Brass Button Band, and work across the lands to move elicit goods, or … redistribute them.
